We left San Antonio with wonderful memories of our many and varied experiences there, but my favorite of all was the Saga light show at the San Fernando Cathedral. I had never before seen anything like it. This 24-minute light show, created by artist Xavier de Richemont, told the story of San Antonio from its origins to the present in a series of images projected on the facade of the cathedral. There was background music, but few words, accompanying the montage and ever-changing pictures. The evening show played on a loop, twice each hour. It was free. We just sat on the ground in the square in front of the cathedral downtown. The show was utterly entrancing.
